The Challenge:Communities In Schools Dallas Region, Inc. (CISDR) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit founded in 1985 to address the growing number of high school dropouts in Dallas and surrounding areas. As experts in collaboration and in providing comprehensive case-managed services, CISDR’s professional staff brings community resources into schools to work in the interest of at-risk children in a coordinated, caring and cost-effective way. In a challenging economy, this worthy nonprofit needed a compelling new way to tell its story to current and prospective donors in order to continue support of its mission in schools.
The Solution:CISDR’s story is emotional and powerful, so we decided to leverage video to give donors and volunteers a deeper look into the students the program supports every day. Our team helped create a mini-documentary, interviewing volunteers, teachers and community leaders about the growing needs of at-risk students and the life-changing results generated by CISDR. We scripted, shot, edited and produced a 4-minute video for use on the CISDR website, at fundraising events and as a part of the group’s overall donor outreach program.
The video serves as a solid marketing tool for CISDR’s development team and its success set the stage for several additional video vignettes to help tell the stories of CISDR.
